15 MMSCFD Capacity Dehydration Plant
(Koonj-1A)
After discovery of Koonj Gas Field in
2008, as an operator of Sukkur Block MGCL
obtained approval of EWT from GOP and
started activities to bring this gas on
production on fast track basis. Laying of 13
KM gas line, construction of surface
facilities and installation of 15 MMSCFD
capacity Dehydration plant was carried out
after GSA with M/s SNGPL.
EWT operations commenced on January 28, 2010
after site acceptance test of Dehydration
plant. EWT was suspended on February 20,
2010 due to unexpected increase of H2S
contents in gas against permissible limit of
agreed in GSA.
Joint Venture of the block after evaluating
various options selected Amine Sweetening
technique to reduce H2S concentration.
Consignment has been received and its
installation and commissioning is in final
stages. It is expected that the EWT
operation will resume in the last week of
