Discovery in the Sukkur Exploration Block |

Mari Gas
Company Limited has made a significant new gas discovery in Koonj Well # 1A
in the Sukkur Exploration Block. This momentous success of the Sukkur Joint
Venture is also happy news for the country; adding indigenous source to
nation’s gas reserve base which would result in substantial savings of
foreign exchange. The Sukkur Joint Venture comprises MGCL –Operator with 50%
interest share, Petroleum Exploration Limited (PEL) 35%, a Pakistani
exploration and production company and International Sovereign Energy
Corp. 15% a Canadian exploration and production company. |

During 2005 MGCL made
another gas discovery in its Mari D&P lease area in Sui Main Limestone, Sui
Upper Limestone and Pirkoh Limestone formations. The SML-1 exploratory well
was spudded on February 16, 2005 and drilled down to T.D of 1,268 meters
within a record period of 18 days. That was the first ever success in Pir
Koh Limestone in the country. The well was completed successfully and is
capable to produce around 6 MMSCFD from three formations. |

| Highly progressive and ambitious exploration activities have resulted in achieving one more milestone for the Company with the discovery of good quality gas at its Ziarat Exploratory Well-1, south east of Quetta, in Baluchistan province. The well encountered gas in Dunshan formation and was tested at 6.9 MMSCFD which is expected to increase after the planned acid-treatment job. More wells are being planned to appraise the gas reserves. MGCL is operator in this block with 60% interest. The other JV partner is MND, a Czech outfit with 40% stake. |
